| A diverse group is lobbying the United States Senate to adopt regulations that would require greater use of renewable energy sources to generate electricity, citing the many disadvantages of using fossil fuels. These include reducing the emission of pollutants and greenhouse gasses, enhancing national energy security, and reducing natural gas prices to consumers. Competitive Power Ventures themselves signed this letter. If they truly believe their own case for renewable energy, why are they proposing to build more fossil fuel plants?
