The Walpole Tax Relief Association wrote an opinion letter that appeared in the Walpole Times on Feburuary 28, 2008. As with the WTRA flyer that was mailed to RTMs a week earlier, the arguments put forth against Article 2 do not openly promote the power plant project. Of particular interest is the claim, repeated at the March 10th town meeting, that passage of Article 2 would "likely have no impact on the future of the proposed power plant." As we learned later, at the secretive March 6th meeting that Kevin Foley organized, CPV plainly told the RTMs that the amendment would likely leave the company with "no means of working with the town." Despite these glaring discrepancies, Foley maintains that there was no hidden agenda at the March 6th meeting with CPV. Source: WTRA Opinion Letter, Walpole Times Thursday February 28th 2008.
